Russia boss Dick Advocaat has named his provisional 26-man squad for the upcoming European Championships.
The squad features a number of names that were instrumental in Russia s run to the Euro 2008 semi-finals, such as Andrey Arshavin, Roman Shirokov, Yuri Zhirkov, Igor Semshov and Aleksander Anyukov.
But experienced midfield pair Diniyar Bilyaletdinov and Vladimir Bystrov have been left out of the squad.
Another surprise was Advocaat s selection of Sporting Lisbon s Marat Izmailov for the first time in his tenure, thanks to the 29-year-old s tremendous club form since his return from a persistent knee injury.
It will be Izmailov s first involvement with the Russia team since 2006.
Advocaat has already announced he will step down as Russia coach after the tournament.
