Bitesize Prediction: Sivasspor vs Konyaspor – 30/05/23

Market: Konyaspor double chance

Odds: 7/10 @

Looking to spring an upset on their travels on Tuesday evening, Konyaspor will travel to the Sivas Stadium when they meet a downbeat Sivasspor.

Starting with the hosts, while Sivasspor might have easily dragged themselves away from a looming relegation scrap in 2023, Riza Calimbay’s squad are in the midst of a rather public Super Lig nightmare. Last seen putting in another downbeat display as they slumped to a routine 3-0 drumming away at Turkish heavyweights Fenerbahce, the Sivas-based outfit are destined to settle for a lacklustre bottom-half finish this month. Only showing a string of issues since opening May, the former Trabzonspor boss has seen his side muster just a single point from any of their last six appe…

Real Madrid midfielder Kroos tests positive for COVID-19

Real Madrid have announced Toni Kroos – who was already in isolation – has tested positive for COVID-19, ruling him out of action for LaLiga s finale.

Midfielder Kroos missed Sunday s 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao due to health and safety protocols having come into direct contact with a confirmed coronavirus case.

The Germany international had remained away from the club since Friday, when Madrid issued a statement revealing he had returned negative test results at that stage.

However, he will now miss the final game of the season for Los Blancos, who remain in the running to retain their league title in Spain.

Real’s injury woes continue with Diarra injury

(GSM) Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho finds himself dealing with an injury crisis with midfielder Mahamadou Diarra being the latest victim to a thigh injury.

The news is a blow to Mourinho as Diarra would be unavailable to play the La Liga opener, and has already lost defender Ezequiel Garay for up to four months with a dislocated kneecap.

The Bernabeu boss has two weeks to prepare his depleted squad for Madrid s opening game of the season away to Mallorca in two weeks time.

The 29-year-old has been struggling with his fitness after sustaining a serious knee injury in 2008, when he was sidelined for nearly a whole year and now the former Olympique Lyon stalwart faces a race against time to be fit for the trip to the Son Moix.

Meanwhile, Argentine Garay ma…

Magath rules out Hoarau bid

(GSM) Schalke 04 boss Felix Magath has revealed that he will not meet PSG s £16.5million price tag for Guillaume Hoarau.

The France international striker, who joined the Ligue 1 outfit in 2008 from Le Havre, scored six goals in 22 games for the capital giants last season.

After adding Raul from Real Madrid in their striking department this summer, the Royal Blues are still on the look-out for another striker.

However, the Bundesliga coach says that he is unwilling to pay PSG what they want for the 26-year-old.

Paris wanted 20million euros (£16.5million). That is not do-able for us, Magath told Bild.

Magath, who has recently been linked with a move for Roma s Julio Baptista, has revealed that he will not be following up his interest in Hoarau.<…

Logan to make Aberdeen switch permanent

Aberdeen have announced that right-back Shaleum Logan will join the club once his deal with Brentford expires.

Logan joined the Scottish Premiership outfit on loan in January and went on to make 19 appearances, including their triumph in the League Cup final.

The 26-year-old – who came through the ranks at Manchester City – had been at Brentford since 2011, but will join Aberdeen in July on a two-year deal.

Aberdeen finished third last term and will enter the qualifying rounds for the UEFA Europa League, which helped convince Logan that the club was the right fit for him.

The main reason I signed was because of how much I enjoyed it last season, Logan told RedTV .

After two-and-a-half years at Brentford I was not really involved so it was great that I …

Mbappe tipped for Real Madrid move by Karembeu

Former Real Madrid midfielder Christian Karembeu backed Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe to join the LaLiga giants.

Mbappe continues to be heavy linked with a blockbuster switch to Madrid heading into Tuesday s Champions League showdown at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid sack Lopetegui: Conte and the leading contenders

Real Madrid are seeking their third head coach of the year after the sacking of Julen Lopetegui was announced by the club on Monday.

A 5-1 Clasico hammering at the hands of Barcelona proved the final straw for Madrid s notoriously impatient board, with Lopetegui axed after a run of one win in seven in all competitions.

Lopetegui lasted only four months after agreeing to succeed Zinedine Zidane, his reign starting in infamy after Spain sacked him on the eve of the World Cup.

It was expected that former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte would take charge, but reported problems in negotiating a contract have led to suggestions Madrid could turn elsewhere, with Santi Solari placed in temporary charge.

So, who are the contenders to take up Lopetegui s position perman…

This is Juve´s moment – Zambrotta backs Buffon for European glory

Former Juventus defender Gianluca Zambrotta believes the moment has arrived for the Bianconeri and captain Gianluigi Buffon to win the Champions League against Real Madrid on Saturday.

The two teams go head-to-head in Cardiff as Juve look to complete a treble, after Serie A and Coppa Italia wins, while Madrid aim for consecutive European titles.

Juve last won the competition in 1996, with stalwart Buffon yet to taste Champions League success after final losses to AC Milan in 2003 and Barcelona in 2015, and Zambrotta believes they are ready to end the drought.

Buffon has a big chance he will give everything, him and his team-mates, to use his experience to help the team, he told Sky Sports.

Juventus arrive prepared. They have a big chance to win this t…

Martinez not rushing Hazard and buoyed by ´fresh´ and ´ready´ De Bruyne

Roberto Martinez will not rush Eden Hazard back into Belgium s starting line-up and says Kevin De Bruyne looks fresh and ready for Euro 2020.

Hazard has been blighted by injuries since joining Real Madrid from Chelsea two years ago and there have been concerns over his fitness for the European Championship.

The winger gave the Red Devils a lift on Sunday, though, making his first international appearance for 19 months as a late substitute in a 1-0 victory over Croatia.

Belgium boss Martinez will be patient with Hazard, who looks set to be on the bench for the Group B opener against Russia at Saint Petersburg Stadium on Saturday.

The Spaniard said: I think the target for Eden was to be on the pitch and I think that was almost a psychological step. You ne…

Bayer Leverkusen 1-5 Bayern Munich: Nagelsmann´s side turn on the style to reclaim top spot

Bayern Munich helped themselves to five first-half goals as they thumped Bayer Leverkusen 5-1 on Sunday to return to the top of the Bundesliga.

The reigning champions suffered their first defeat of Julian Nagelsmann s tenure last time out against Eintracht Frankfurt, but they responded in just about the best way imaginable at BayArena.

Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry helped themselves to a couple of goals each in a one-way first half, with Thomas Muller registering in between those doubles.

Leverkusen were level on points with Bayern before kick-off and pulled one back through Patrik Schick, but Nagelsmann s side were able to cruise through the rest of the match to overtake Borussia Dortmund at the summit.
